From 1 July 2026, Australia's anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism financing (AML/CTF) regime will expand significantly, bringing a range of professional services and businesses into scope.

These new obligations will apply to certain services provided by what are commonly referred to as "Tranche 2 entities", including:

• Accountants and trust and company service providers

• Real estate businesses, including real estate agents, buyer's agents and property developers

• Lawyers, conveyancers and legal service providers
